"You'll barge into work today on a mission: to let the Powers That Be, not to mention your subordinates, know exactly how indispensable you really are. Don't let anything -- or anyone -- hold you back."
that was the horoscope i received via email today. when i read it, i thought 'hah yeah im so not working today, theyre way off!' but blah, i spoke[or thought cuz i didnt say it to anyone due to the fact that it was just me and my doggy in the room] too soon. so yeah i did end up working today. the HR lady called me and asked me to come in to help unpack stuff, price it, and get it out into the displays. i figured why not cuz i definitely could use a little flow. so i slapped on some make-up and changed into decent clothes, not the pajamas that i had on hehe, and booked it over there.
i work w/ a shit ton of old people. like elderly folks. its so effing rad. they tell me that im smart and im nice and i know what im doing and that theyre proud of me and its sooooo funny. its like having a million grandparents around me at all times, just telling me how awesome i am! hah its too cool.
this conversation w/ Will basically sums up how i feel about the elderly people at work:
myparisinflames:its a definite ego boost haha
WillaBong03: haha
myparisinflames: and there was this one old lady today who was kind of a bitch, but it was funny cuz i dont think she knew she was, and shes old enough to be my grandmother, so i wasnt offended, i thought it was hilarious!
WillaBong03: because you know you could just push them over and break a hip
myparisinflames: exactly! plus she said "ass backwards" and when i heard that, it was all over. i had to hold back the giggles
so essentially, i did fulfill what my horoscope predicted. i went in and took over. i think i was the youngest person there today. and clearly, one of the only people who was not a retiree. and i had probably more retail experience than most of them. at least, more current retail experience. they were all asking me questions and confused about things. and then the soccer moms, oh my lordy, it was amusing! to see me and some soccer moms sitting around boxes, putting price tags on items, well, that was amusing enough, but when i whipped out my knife to open the boxes up, it got even better. i offered them my knife in case they couldnt open something, and the sight of a soccer mom trying to handle my CRKT knife was beyond amusing! they totally thought it was weird until i explained the whole 'yeah i sold knives as my last job', then they seemed to be less creeped out haha. i love being the weird girl at work. it so makes the job more interesting :).
so, onto a completely different topic...we all know that i have a thing for a select few dumb reality tv shows. well, ive got a new favorite. ever since "Showdog Moms & Dads" was finished, i didnt feel as though anything could fill that empty void in my heart that it left behind. but, ill be damned, ive got a new favorite! its called "Miami Ink" on TLC. its about these 5 dudes who have this new tattoo shop that they opened. ive only seen the pilot episode, but i already love it. i cant wait for me.
only downside is: its making me wanna get another tattoo so effing bad. but no more until im married! i made that promise and its one i plan on keeping fo' real.
well, im gonna go hit up the mall real quick. i need some more polo shirts and MAC make-up. ciao ciao =P.
ps - i cant believe i almost forgot to say this...buuuuut.....
