The family did Christmas Eve dinner at my youngest brother's house. It was wonderful to see the kids. Little Erin Elizabeth, 7 months, is crawling! She is fighting off a cold, so she was a bit fussy, but adorable just the same. I tried to hold her, but she wasn't having any of that. She much prefers the view from a higher vantage point, so my lap was not her thing. I needed my power chair with seat elevator, but my manual is the only one practical for that house, but she did sit with me at the table after dinner, so all is good.Tony loves her, but is definitely asserting his terrible two's personality. He refused to share any of his gifts with his sister.

Dunner was pleasant enough. There were no fights this year and only one truly inappropriate remark from my sister, Karen, so she is improving. I have also discovered that the family is easier to deal with while I am medicated:-)! Who Knew a cold at Christmastime could be such a good thing? The family decided against gifts, which was a good thing. No one really had money to spend. Mom and I did get ceramic plates with Tony and Erin's hand and footprints, they are precious.

Today, I slept a lot. John was going to Christmas dinner with Emily's family and I was surprised at how little that actually bothered me. Still, I had not expected to spend much time with him today, but I was pleasantly incorrect about that. He called early in the morning to say Merry Ho Ho and we talked for a while. After he got home from dinner, we played Scrabble at isc. I won! He even called back to let me tuck him into bed. Apparently, dinner had made him a little upset, but we talked through it and he relaxed We had a very nice day together, which is the best gift I could get, long distance and all!
