howdy journal..
Well, I have been gone from any sort of civiliization for the past 3 months. Things got a little scary and sticky towards the end of my last post. So I decided that it was time to get the hell out of Dodge and vamos. I traveled across the country with my parents to there new home in Arizona. It was a hell of a ride, 9 dogs, one cat, 4 people, in an RV with no air conditioning, at the end of August. I am frankly amazed we arrived in one piece.
Don't get me wrong there were plenty of little spats, the cat got out and now lives in Ohio somewhere, the RV lost it's battery charge somewhere around Texas and we got pulled over b/c we were trying to find a place to get it looked at, I managed to "lose" a cashiers check for a couple grand, out the window while flying down the highway, (after my tears of guilt, we found it..), my Mom and I duked it out all brawl like a gas station lot...ahhh, sweet memories...it was fun.
So now I have been staying with my parents on 40 acres of Mountain and desert. It's been a learning experience. We live "off the grid" which means we have no electricity from the city, just solar and wind power. We truck in our own water, which translates into, no long, hot showers. And we live 9 miles of the pavement..9 miles of bumpy dirt road, which washes out with the flash floods of sudden mountain storms. All that for me the urban type, and I am still there. I love it.
Will I stay? No, not much longer. But being there has helped me find a little more of myself, and a little more peace within me. Trust me you can THINK out there. But there are things like the fact to go to the grocery store is an all day affair, and as of now there is no telephone of interent, so you are pretty closed off from the outside world. I am beginning to get quite homesick for my sisters back home and my friends.. now on both coasts.
So that's an update for all you who still are out there..
