most major businesses in the most important economical sectors are run by a few families, from telecommunications, to land development, media and newspaper companies, shipping industries, etc etc and whatever.
to truly change the country, there has to be a way to reorganize society so that we don't rely on this modern feudal system. then we can go on and fight the multi-nationals.
besides, multi-nationals provide a lot of jobs for the filipinos. i mean where would we be if international IT industries didn't outsource? to cite one example, there would be no call-centers that employ thousands practically every year due to high turnover. Plus, I wouldn't have a job either.;P
but i agree that we hafta support pinoy products. we make the best shoes, for one thing. and cheap, high quality clothes. plus cds are cheaper here too. and i like sarsi better than pepsi or coke.;p

--> reorganizing an entire society is ideal. but we can't wait for society to be reorganized before we can do something about these corporations hogging all the profits and controlling the market. nothing will happen if we wait for the system to change. we can, however, start with small, concrete steps. even something as simple as chosing local over imported or starting your own business that markets locally made products. its a small start, but a start. david didnt let power or size or the system stop him from defeating goliath.
