A half hour phone chat with a scientist from Genzyme :) I think it went well! If they're still interested in me, they'll be contacting me in a bit for a half-day interview at their facility.
Going into the phone interview I was nervous as shit. But I think I did ok. I really don't like talking on the phone; part of that I think is because my hearing is so crappy. Conversation at certain pitches, (particularly over a phone line and also when I can't see the person speaking to me so I get the effect of their moving lips) I find really difficult - I probably aught to see an audiologist at some point. I don't think I'm at the point where I'd need a hearing aid or anything, but it'd be nice to know that my tympanic membrane isn't shot to hell from all those ear infections I had as a kid. I don't have any trouble clearing my ears for SCUBA, though.
On the other hand, I've got awesome eyesight. 20/20 near and far in both eyes. Eyes of an eagle but the ears of a doorknob.
Time to go home and enjoy the rest of my Halloween!
