Wall-E: two thumbs up (cut for minor spoliers)

Jun 28, 2008 13:50

Went with Chris yesterday, opening night, because he's a huge Pixar fan and didn't want to wait. I've enjoyed several of them myself, but Wall-E was extra special.

This film was different from the others because for the first half of it there's not any dialog, apart from R2D2 blips and chirps. Still (or maybe for that very reason) it managed to grab my heart in a way that the others haven't, because it is such a sweet movie that manages to convey so much emotion. Robots in love! Humans redeeming themselves! What's not to like?

Oh, and apparently it wasn't an accident that EVE looked like an Apple product come to life...an Apple bigwig designed her!
