They're the ultimate disposable products. Crack one the slightest bit, and the whole thing's done for.

Despite what it sounds like, I'm somebody who doesn't break cymbals often.

If you're a drummer you'll probably be aware of this, but they're unexpectedly fragile. Delicate things. They can break, they can bend. #*shudders* （・ε・）

The skins of drums (drumheads) are equivalent to strings for guitars, so it's only natural to replace them. But come to think of it, drumsets are basically usable for life besides the cymbals. #*shudders*

For me, I've been changing my main cymbal used in lives at about the pace of once every three tours. Sometimes I'll have a few working in shifts even then, though. Apart from that, some are used for recording only, or for experimental purposes like the one I'm currently looking for; I buy them like a hobbyist for the most part. U~m, #*shudders*

The differences between the individual tones of cymbals can sound pretty obvious. Their prices run the gamut, but if you're after the good ones... #*shudders*

The drumsticks I use are always my own model.
In the cases of picks and such, they can be hard to play with depending on their sizes, shapes, and hardness, right? It's the same thing. #mmhmm
