I took out my old ball gown and took a few pictures of it. It was designed by the late great Joe Salazar, and I wore it to a charity ball my grandmother and her friends hosted at the Westin Plaza Hotel. I was the club's muse, which meant I had to waltz around with my escort: some congressman's son whose name I no longer recall. It was hard to dance in a heavy dress, but someone had to do it!
I suppose the best part of the night was when it actually ended. The old ladies gave me a pair of diamond earrings as a little gift to remember the night, which I gave to my very-bored mother. A year after the ball, the grand old ladies decided to throw another one, this time with my cousin as the muse. Joe Salazar designed her gown, too, but mine was infinitely better! Hawhaw! Anyway, while my cousin was going through rehearsals and lessons on social etiquette, the organizers took me to a recording studio where I was asked to make a long, detailed statement about the hundreds of people I helped while I was the club's muse. That took me by surprise, because nobody ever said I had to help hundreds of people- so I simply didn't bother to help even one. Needless to say, on the night of the ball, while I was parading myself around to the shameful tape-recorded testament of my good deeds, the guilt I felt was unbearable...
Nah, just kidding. My conscience was asleep.
By the by, I just want to show off my puppy, Paris. She is so adorable! I just took photos of her today in her favorite coat!

And here's my puppy in her ballerina costume!

Moving on, I am thinking of dropping by the bookstore tomorrow. There are a lot of titles I want to get... mostly books on The Romanovs/Russian history. I don't know why, but I am so into Russia right now. I usually focus on just one obsession for two months straight, before jumping onto the next one. When I tire of all things Russian, perhaps I'll move onto... all things Greek? Anyhoo, here are some of my favorite books so far. Not all are about Russia, of course.

And yessss... I am finally going to clean out my closet. Here are a few bags that I am going to "throw awayyyyy" (as in keep out of everyone's sight):

Farewell, loves.

Ignore the crappy photos I glued on my wall. I haven't used my old room in a long while. Anyway, the photo below shows the back of my gown. (It's crumpled. I just took it out from its resting place.)

Front.

The very detailed train of my gown.
