The little boy in Smashville was always full of dreams: full of excitement, full of curiosity, full of fear. Though he knew the patch of forest he lived in was safe, he can't help feeling frightened of several of the fighters in the Stadium. That any minute, one of them would turn on the town and drown it in flames.

Tonight, his shoes pat the leaves as he carried his shovel, the little boy attending care to the apple orchard. His cheeks blushed and he grinned as he watered his flowers, pink and purple and gold. He was surprised to find someone in the garden; another boy, with blond hair and wearing a striped shirt, sitting there with the butterflies and the blooms.

"H-Hi." The Smashville native spoke, his shovel shaking in his hand. "You're one of the f-fighters among the Super Smash Bros., right?"

The striped boy startled at his words, falling back and kicking petals in the air, the butterflies bursting like a cloud to the air. "Oh! I-I'm sorry! I'm Lucas. I'm a Smasher... I'm sorry if I wrecked your garden..."

"It's okay! I'll buy more seeds from Nookington's tomorrow!" The boy in the dark shirt shook his head. For a celebrity, the psychic fighter was no shyer than he was, which surprised him.

"Are you scared?" A look of guilt crossed Lucas's expression.
"N-No..."
"If you don't want me to bother you anymore, I can leave--"
"You don't bother me! Lucas! Wait!" The dark-shirted boy dropped his shovel, chasing the striped fighter and grabbing his hand. There was a moment of silence, but it steadily grew comfortable and Lucas smiled again.
"I-I... what I meant to say was... I admire you. You're my hero." The Smashville civilian blushed. "Will you promise to keep the town safe for me? I'll come and watch you! When I can! I-I'll cheer you..."

Warm as a marshmallow, Lucas was touched by the other boy's words, wrapping him in gentle embrace. "I will. I promise."
"You mean you'll protect me...?"
"Of course I will."
