FIRE!

Well, in this case, I actually mean it! FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! I looked out the window of my office into the plant and noticed smoke around the lights. That's the first thing I always notice when we have a fire. Now it's interesting that I say, "always"... well that's b/c this isn't the first one, but it IS the first one that resulted in flames licking our ceilings. WOW! That's a sight to see when no fire alarms are going off in the building b/c there's not enough smoke yet. 911 was dialed, and one of our employees was already fighting it. I swear, the employees here should be considered for back-up fire department duty! These guys are good! They put the fire out, and it was BIG! I'm still stunned. There were five fire trucks that showed up (after waiting for the trains so they could cross the tracks, sheesh!), and I guess that is what constitutes a five alarm fire. They don't mess around here... there was a fire 4 or 5 years ago that knocked the whole plant out, and that's something none of us here want to repeat. The fire department knows it's a serious issue when our fire alarms go off. With all the paper and dust in the air here, there is a high likelihood for that a fire could reignite so... two hours of sitting outside on the curb later, they let us back in. We just have to deal with the smokey smell in our offices now, which is not a bad thing considering that we still have a business to run. There are still guys shoveling the burnt paper aside, but it wasn't all that catastrophic thankfully. I wish the guys could see how proud of them I am! They saved our plant yet again! *smile* And we're all happy and safe again. The End. :)
