A post - one I wanted to keep to remember
I'm sorry everything got ripped away from you. :(. I can't imagine the pain.
I've been on and off, mostly off, from 2007 on. Mostly because of drama from IRL that migrated to Gaia. To the one safe spot I had when it felt like everything else was crushing in on me. Rather than expose myself to reminders of pain daily, I decided that slipping away quietly so I wouldnt cause in-group tensions was the better choice.
I won't mince words. I'm back because I'm lonely, bored, and discontent with my life. I miss having online friends. I miss getting to know people and have a reason to try to improve my art skills. I can't find an interest past doodling if it isn't a Gaian avatar. Pathetic, I know.
As for meeting people... Loads. Easily over twenty. Each with a unique story that I'd love to reminisce over with a cold drink. I can't wait to see a lot of them again. In so many ways, for this military brat, they became the stability in my social life that I craved for so long. I miss so many of them, with time and life being the natural drifting force it is, we have devolved back into tiny pockets, niches on the edge of each others lives, some more involved than others, but I believe we all hold the fond memories in our hearts.
