Kiva 47.

Jan 11, 2009 10:12

Watched episode 47 of Kamen Rider Kiva. Interestingly, all events of this episode take place in 2008 (2009?), er, present day. It seems like after what happened in the last episode, we won't be focusing on 1986 anymore since everything's that supposed to be revealed was already shown.

It seems like the next episode will be the last one? (;~;) Nooooooo. I really don't feel like 30 minutes are enough to resolve everything, especially Taiga's mental issues and what happened at the end of the episode... however, with 1986 out of the way, maybe there is enough time?

Also, if you totally wanted Nago × Megumi, there are a lot of moments between them in this episode. I kind of have this little feeling that they're not going to end up together romantically, but the show will have an open-ended ending where they're working together and you can draw your own conclusions from there. If Nago doesn't die in the next episode, that is.

So, the episode starts with Kivat and Tatsulot as usual, narrating the beginning. They're commenting on the fight Saga is having with the Fangires, hahaha.

Anyways, Taiga and Wataru both defeat all the Fangires the Bishop sent to ambush them, and then fight each other again. Wataru knocks Taiga's sword out of his hand, which gives him the upper hand to cause some major damage. As the two are out of their transformation, Wataru pins Taiga down, no longer wishing to fight him as Taiga thrashes under his grip. Wataru leaves Mio's gravesite, with Taiga still frustrated.

Nago is at Café mald'amour, confronting his growing blindness from his last battle. Wataru appears to him and asks him what's wrong, but Nago says it's nothing. With a smile on his face, he asks Wataru to take over the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization (as he can't handle it due to his blindness), but Wataru refuses. In desperation, Nago tries to convince him, reminding him that he stated he wanted Fangires and humans to live together peacefully, and he can achieve that with the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization. Wataru says that he thought about it, and that he's going to go as himself. Before Nago can continue, Megumi phones him with more reports on the Fangires invading town, and he leaves to find her fighting off one of them.

The Bishop is rocking out on his emo organ, coalescing all the life energy he has amassed from the humans. He is ready to use that energy to eliminate the King (Taiga), and how does he do it? He sends it down like a meteor on a very familiar area, where the Bat Fangire is springing from the dead... but that's not enough energy! The Bishop does something where he stands in front of the stained glass windows of the church and is suddenly wearing white contact lenses.

When Nago tries to transform into IXA, someone bumps to him and he falls, struggling to reach the IXA Knuckle that he dropped. Megumi tries to save him with her pistol, but luckily, Wataru comes to the rescue. He beats up a Fangire before scaring him with his glare, and does the same to another. Gunshots are suddenly fired at a Fangire, and the trio turn to see who it is.

It's none other than Shima!! He's back!! He reveals that he's not a Fangire. What? Well, we'll get to that.

At the café, Akira is overjoyed that his weight loss competitor is back to the point he jump-hugs him, kisses his face, and holds his hands. (o_O) He offers Shima coffee, but Shima wants sugar. However, Shima won't let Akira put the sugar in; he wants Nago to do it. Everyone watches as Nago struggles to reach for the sugar jar and scatters sugar over the handle of the cup. Shima confirms his thoughts when he reveals Nago's handicap. Megumi suddenly recalls that Nago had saved her from the Bishop in the previous episode and had been slashed across the eyes. She says that it's her fault, but Nago interrupts her and says that it isn't.

Shima informs Nago that since it's like this, he should leave the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization (Let me note that the intention was not spiteful at all like Shima had done with Kengo; he is only doing what is best for Nago's safety, as he can't do anything now in this state.). Megumi grabs Shima's shoulders in protest, but Nago tells her it's okay, touching her shoulder. He resigns. Megumi slumps, and Wataru looks clouded.

At D&P, Taiga's office partners refuse to work with him because he has been defeated by Kiva. All the people at the conference vote to have Taiga step down his position as the CEO. Angry, Taiga gets up and leaves. "Do what you want," he spits.

Nago is found looking at the river downtown, and Megumi approaches him with an attempt to reconsider his decision. Instead, Nago gives her the IXA Knuckle.

Megumi: Nago-kun.
Nago: This [the IXA Knuckle]... use this. (puts the IXA Knuckle in her hands) I'm sure you can be IXA in my place.
Megumi: What are you talking about!? You're the one that uses IXA, right? Why are you giving up so quickly?

Nago only responds to this by bowing his head in silence, which prompts Megumi to say, "I'll become your eyes."

Nago looks at her in surprise.

Wataru visits Maya, wondering what he should do from now on. He asks her what Otoya meant by protecting everyone's music. Maya explains that Otoya was very happy when he died... Wataru wants to become stronger to protect beautiful things. Maya tells him that he has kindness and it's what makes him himself, but he doesn't want that. He wants to become stronger...

Meanwhile, Taiga is outside, and the Bishop approaches him with those creepy eyes. He sends another group of Fangires to attack before transforming himself. Taiga transforms into Saga, but he gets beaten up fairly quickly. Nago and Megumi run to the rescue, with Megumi giving Nago directions of where to fight. This doesn't work well as IXA is defeated pretty fast. Wataru comes in to save the day as Kiva, wounding the Bishop before he teleports away. Once Wataru detransforms, he reveals his ambition to become the King. Nago yells at him to reconsider his decision, and Taiga just struggles to his feet, clutching his arm. Wataru does not pity him, however, when he walks past him without so much of a glance.

At nighttime, Shima comes to Wataru for a talk about Taiga. He tells him that he did not die, and explains why him not being a Fangire has something to do with it. After Saga hit him and he "exploded", in the flames, Taiga had taken Shima away to a hospital to have a special operation that would remove traces of Fangire from his body. This would in turn save Shima's life. This act of kindness helped Shima understand that Taiga was not completely malicious and did not have as much as a superiority complex as he had perceived to have had; Taiga had been hiding his kindness and Shima didn't realize that until now.

"Why are you telling me this?" asks Wataru.

"I want you to take care of Taiga."

Speaking of the person in question, Taiga goes to Maya's cave, where he hugs her like a huge baby and cries that he's lost everything... his lover, his company... and now he's probably going to lose his title as the King with Wataru around. He requests Maya to give him the power of Dark Kiva, but she refuses. "Why can't you?" roars Taiga. "Is it because you wish for Wataru to become the King!?"

Maya yells at him that it's not that, it's because she believes Wataru is half-Fangire, thus he can make a brighter future for both Fangires and humans as he understands being both the most. Taiga starts going crazy, shaking her while she tries to calm him down. What's his response?

"WHY? COULD IT BE BECAUSE MOMMY LOVES WATARU MORE THAN ME?"

Oh, Taiga.

In the end, Taiga stabs Maya with his saber and she dies in his arms. As Taiga leaves her body in the cave, he walks out in the rain, where Kivat-bat II offers him his power, talking to him mockingly with interest. Taiga transforms into Dark Kiva.

"IT'S THE DARKNESS! THE DARKNESS!"

There's a scene of a very familiar, J-rocker-dressed man walking into Castle Doran with the Zanbat Sword. He enters the throne room with the Arms Monsters gaping at him in surprise and takes his seat on the throne. The person is none other than Wataru, who says, "Starting today, I will be the King!"

Meanwhile, the Bishop is in his church again, carrying out his resurrection of the dead King as he swishes his robe in an awesome twirl. Again, he sends a meteor of energy down towards the place where the old King had fallen, successfully reviving him!! "Just a little more..." he breathes. "The time of revival is near."

At Wataru's revelation, the Arms Monsters become even more shocked!

Basshaa: Onii-chan is...
Dogga: ... the King...
Garuru: What the hell's the meaning of this, Wataru? Your father, Otoya, didn't wish for this!!
Wataru: Don't talk about my father anymore!

Grudgingly, all of the Arms Monsters slowly kneel down to him in loyalty.

Thoughts:

  • I wonder if people are going to pair Shima and Akira together. Hahahaha.
  • Shima's alive! I totally was surprised at that. I also didn't expect Taiga would save his life again since they talk to each other so coldly. I like how Shima becomes a guardian figure of Taiga, what with asking Wataru to help him.
  • Megumi was very sweet to Nago in this episode. It's obvious that even though she gets annoyed with him, she doesn't want him to leave the organization... and also partially she felt guilty about his injury.
  • Somehow I think that while Maya believes Wataru has a better goal and position of becoming the King, she is also trying to protect Taiga from Dark Kiva. Maybe she thinks the power will corrupt him, or that it might cause him to go crazy since he has the former King's blood in him?
  • Oh, man. Taiga was really kicked around in this episode. He turns into the man who's lost everything, and goes crazy from that (he even kills Maya out of his frustration!!). Who wouldn't, though? He's lost his future wife, his company, everyone's respect, and the only thing he has is his title of the King, which will soon be stripped from him.
  • I think Wataru being the King is totally a fluke. I mean, just moments ago Shima asked him to save Taiga. I think Wataru is pretending to be the King to gain more power and attention in order to protect his own brother's life.
  • Whoa, Kivat-bat II? He's alive in present day? Why can't he be a good dad and stay with Kivat-bat III?
Next episode:

  • HUGE MELEE BRAWL!! Kiva, Dark Kiva, and IXA VS the Bishop, the former King, and the Fangires!! EVEN THE ARMS MONSTERS JOIN LIKE THEY DID IN THE MOVIE.
  • Nago tackles the scary-eyed Bishop! It looks like their rivalry will be settled. I think that Nago's going to be the one to kill the Bishop as they've been sparring with each other for quite a while.
  • Taiga appears to Wataru at Castle Doran.
  • Wataru and Taiga take on the former King.
  • Nago is lying on the leaves, with Megumi kneeling next to him. Is this the end of Nago? Is he going to die? Nooooo! Nagooooo!
  • Otoya: "In you, I'm here." Since it's going to be the next episode, of course Otoya's going to be there.
