I've been going to the DDR Club over at UCCS for quite some time, I even scheduled work around it since it was always scheduled for Tuesday at 7pm. After attending as many meetings as I could, rushing from work, and helping out when I could, I was starting to like the club a lot.
Today was the first Newbie Tournament Fund Raiser where people who hardly or never played DDR enter a 1-3 foot tournament. I helped a 50 year old man learn the game. It was chaos at first because everybody was giving directions all at once as you randomly hear "left" and "go with the beat." After a while, everyone sorta gave up and I worked on it myself.
I looked at his eyes and noticed that he couldn't read which arrow was coming up too clearly so I ended up being his eyes. I timed it so I would say "up" about two beats before he actually would hit it and it was working. From only 25 points to actually passing a song. Even though he ended up dead last at the tournament, he wanted us to call him as soon as we held another one.
...
I can't go to the club anymore after today. The DDR Club's president has a boyfriend in the club. The boyfriend cannot attend Tuesdays anymore so she scheduled it on Thursdays; now which mean I can't go.
