That special time has come again, when I get bored and I can't think of drabble ideas myself. It is a special breed of lazy that leads me to ask for MORE PROMPTS MANG. "Mitsuru, you don't have to shoot me! It...it'll work out." He stutters in fear, glances down at the Last Meal he could have had. Steamed rhubarbs, with a side of boiled rhubarbs in rhubarb sauce.
His favourite.
"I can't raise my children with a Crabman, Thanatos. ...I loved you." She sniffles, and then he's overwhelmed by the searing hot lead lancing through his chest-
"Gah!" He awakes in a cold sweat, gasping for breath loud enough to bring Mitsuru into what looks like a much more peaceful way to awake. She watches him blearily, clasping a comforting hand to his bare stomach as he tries to calm down.
Did he just dream he was dead? Dead as in, mortally dead? That's...a strange one, for sure. He's unsure of just how much he can blame on Hypnos for all of that.
"You okay?" Mitsuru hums sleepily, stroking his belly lightly. It's enough to coax him into lying beside her again, and she gives him the opportunity to play with her crimson hair as she snuggles up against his side.
"Nn...I think so. I just had really weird dream. There were you and the kids, and crabs. But the crabs were like zombies, and you had to kill me when I got bitten. It was a bit sad at the end, actually."
There's a brief pause, but he knows Mitsuru always takes a little longer to process things when she's just woken up. Slower than she should be, but still leaps and bounds better than when she first rejoined sobriety.
"How could I kill you?" She yawns against his shoulder, and eagerly takes up the invitation to rest her head against his chest when Thanatos raises his arm. He kisses her forehead in a short moment of romantic indulgence, following her contagious yawn with one of his own.
"With a shotgun."
"Of course." Mitsuru giggles, and he chuckles back.
"Oh, and the twins were conjoined at the hip. That part was pretty creepy, I'm gonna have to talk with Hypnos about that."
"That would be...horrible!" That doesn't stop Mitsuru from giggling though, and he can feel her soft body shaking against him with refrained laughter long after she should have calmed down. He uses the time to consider the implications of conjoined twins of a different gender, and the many, many disturbing consequences.
"I don't think you're taking it seriously." He pouts.
"Honestly, I don't think it sounds like the type of dream you're meant to take seriously." Mitsuru continues laughing after her brief yet informative, half sleep deprived explanation. Was this Hypnos' way of keeping in touch? There's no way all of that was inspired by his own mind.
"Yeah...maybe. But if he makes the kids into anything weird again, I'm gonna go find him."
"Alright dear." She doesn't sound like she believes him. Wisely, he lets the topic go in favour of silence. It isn't until he's relaxed and allowed his mind to wander that he remembers a curious part of the dream, and he quietly whispers so as not too disturb Mitsuru's gradually returning sleep.
"Hey, honey? Do we have any rhubarbs?"
