The scientists are the only ones responsible for bringing people into the city and sending them home, right? Do they do it randomly and as they see fit or are they acting in response to something that's happened in the city?

I wondered the same thing when I got here, but I can't figure any kind of stimulus yet.

Maybe there really is no method to their madness.

I'm starting to think the same way. Honestly, I wonder if they're just bored and looking for something to do. Maybe we just flatter ourselves in thinking there's anything more to it than that.

Who gave them the right to treat other people this way, though?

People never need a right to treat others cruelly - just the means and opportunity.

A sense of entitlement, then.

Maybe it's the same sense of entitlement that what we have over owning animals.

I wouldn't say that. Many times their lives as pets are better than living outside in the wild on their own. I would compare it to animals in a zoo, though.

A zoo, huh? That's actually quite a good way of thinking about all of this. Frankly, I think we're just part of their zoo.

And they're looking at us from some place safe.

Maybe we should be looking for some video cameras. This could be one big reality show... like Ainori!

Yeah... maybe if we just confess our love to someone we can leave.

Haha! I guess we better hurry up and fall in love with someone, then!

I don't think it's entirely true, though. My cousin was in love with someone, but when she left, he didn't.
