The scientists are the only ones responsible for bringing people into the city and sending them home, right? Do they do it randomly and as they see fit or are they acting in response to something that's happened in the city?

suddenly alone, also akito is a woman, scientists, mass family exodus

It's random... or if there is a pattern, it doesn't have shit to do with us.

So they just like seeing us suffer.

Tch. Hell if I know...what I do know is, most people don't wanna stay here.

Someone's home world would have to be pretty terrible to prefer this place to their home.

I don't know... sometimes there's other reasons.

...I can understand that. When I first arrived, I almost liked living here. It was difficult, but better than home in a way. [...] But eventually the "glamor" wore off and, like everyone else, I just want to go home.

I remember... you told me something like that, back around when you first showed up.

'Glamour...' that's a good word for it. What this place is at first. But some people don't wanna go back, even after it wears off. Just depends on the person.

Do you want to go back?

No, I don't wanna go back.

It's probably possible to one day make things here... normal. Without the monsters or the scientists. So not wanting to leave really isn't a bad thing.
