☃ 2nd Rat Tale [voice]

When you come from a country that doesn't often have snowfall, seeing it in such a beautiful display seems like a special gift. It's a shame it isn't snowing today, too, although I suppose most people are grateful. Unfortunately, with the snow comes bitter coldness. Winter without the cold would be nice, I think.

Oh--Although I'm not a doctor, I'll ( Read more... )

Where I came from, it snowed all the time. But winter wouldn't be winter if it wasn't cold, though people would like it if it wasn't that way. Wouldn't you miss out on things that you do during the winter to stay warm?

How could you deal with it snowing all the time...?

A-Ah. I suppose you're right. Sitting at the kotatsu in the evenings with your family and taking vacations to the lake and hot springs... I didn't really think about that. Those would be things I'd miss, most definitely.

...I grew up in that weather so I got used to it. [That's all he's saying. For now.]

See? Then it's alright if it's cold. The only thing is if it's really really cold. That can be a problem.

I see... Still, I can't imagine it being like this all year long.

Yes, you're right. It was wrong of me to think Winter would be better off without the cold. But, you're right. If it gets too cold, people's lives could be in danger.

There are islands where I'm from that only have one season. Mine was a winter island. There are summer, spring, and fall islands too, but there are also ones where the weather is between seasons. When you live somewhere like that, you have to get used to it. But, I think it's good that Discedo isn't like that. Not everyone can live with just one season.

I don't think it has ever gotten that cold, so everyone should be fine. It did snow once... during the summer.

Mm, yes. Four seasons are best, I think. That way, all of the seasons can be equally appreciated.

Oh, then that's good. It'd be concerning if it did get that cold, though.

...How did it manage to snow in Summer? Are you sure it wasn't Spring?

I like all four too, though I don't like summer when it's really hot.

I don't really know, but it wasn't even warm like summer, and it wasn't nice like spring is. It was supposed to be summer and there should have been summer weather but it was cold and it snowed, so it was like winter instead.

I'm afraid I don't like summer when the heat becomes too intense, either.

Winter comes twice a year in this city?

The weather and seasons here are weird, so it's possible. I can't say how it really is though, since I have only been here... I think for five months. If you're curious, you could ask some of the other people that have been here longer, like for a year. Sometimes even more.

I probably should do that.... Winter is a fascinating season, but I'm not sure I can deal with it twice in one year. Especially not if it's this bad. [koff koff]

Well, really I wouldn't mind at all because of how used to it I am. But most people would only be okay with one winter. That's how it should be.

[Oh he totally heard that cough. You can't hide anything from me mister. Animal hearing ftw.]

...be sure to find warm clothes, just in case. And don't overwork yourself.

...I suppose that's true. Even for you, who comes from a place where there is only winter, it's still just "one" winter. It seems to be never-ending, but...

[ It would have been a quieter cough if the font would be smaller. ]

E-Eh? I'm fine. Zuko-san gave me a spare coat and many others offered... and Haru is fine with allowing me to borrow his scarf. Please don't worry about me.

Sometimes it's a little different though. There were days where it snowed, and other days where it was just cloudy. And some days, the clouds would all go away and you could see the sky. It wouldn't last for very long, but it was nice to look at.

If you can take care of yourself and you have people looking out for you too, then things should be fine. But I'm a doctor, so asking about those things is just what I do. ...Haru? Like Hatsuharu? Did you become friends here or were you friends... back home? Are you from the same place?

Mm. Well... It's good that the weather wasn't so static, then.

I'm capable of taking care of myself, so there isn't any need to worry. But, if you're a doctor, then it looks like we'll be working together at the hospital, right? If you need me to do anything for you, please let me know.

..Ah. Yes, Hatsuharu. Haru is my cousin.

I will try not to then. [Of course telling Chopper to not worry is like telling him to not eat sweets. He's going to do it anyways whether you like it or not. 8/] Oh, I guess we will! ...Oh. W-we will. Um, okay. I guess I should at least introduce myself now then. My name is Chopper. You can... know everything else later.

Really? Ooh. Then it's really nice to meet you!

[ He suddenly has an ominous feeling about what he'll be told later. ]

My name is Yuki; I'm from the Sohma family.

Ahaha. It's nice to meet you, too. I hope Haru hasn't bored you with any stories about me or my cousins.
