2007 approaches

As the New Year draws near, thoughts of possible New Year's resolutions dance in my head. Yes, most New Year's resolutions are broken by the end of January, especially by myself. So, with that in mind, this year I will simply be making 2007 the year of change. Along with going off to school toward the end of the year, I want to accomplish a few things. First off, after New Year's eve, I will stop drinking for a while and begin to quit smoking. Hmm, sounds familiar....... oh yea, I've been trying this for the past few years. Well I have two reasons why this year wlll be different.

  1. The money. On average I'm spending about  $160-$200 on smokes and alcohol a month, $1920-$2400 a year. Which is really ridiculous, there's so much more I can be doing with this money.
  2. My health. I know smoking and drinking are bad for your health, I always have, it's very common knowledge. Recently, however, it really sunk in. Basically because after almost every smoke I feel ill, and every day after a drinking binge I either feel horribly sick or am physically sick. It simply isn't worth it.

I truely think this time will be the charm, I just don't see the point anymore.
Here's to 2007 being smoke free and pretty much drink free.
