Transformers: The movie

Okay, just got back from watching the movie, if you have plans to see the movie, and haven't read or heard anything about it don't keep reading this. It may be a little demoralizing.

It was an alright movie.
It just wasn't a Transformer movie.
The plot was kind of hit or miss, and seemed to skip over the main plot a lot.
There were too many humans, and I don't mean that in a 'stupid human' way. They spent more time focusing on the humans than they did the Transformers. Bumblebee got the most characterization, followed by Prime, then Megatron, while the others didn't get much at all. Because by the time they were actually in the film it was half over and the rest of it went too fast.
Another problem they had was that the Decepticons were senselessly violent, just going through, ripping and tearing and thrashing things apart. I know the Cons are the Bad guys, but but that isn't all they're about. They just kept lashing out needlessly. There were no scenes where any of them stood menacingly over anyone, or gave any threats, it was just maim, kill, destroy. That was disappointing, they're not just killing machines, I mean, some are, but, they're people too, they're supposed to have some kind of personality beyond mangle.
There were a lot of cool things though, a bunch of Transformer in jokes, and the moments of characterization the transformers did get was great(though those were like specks of diamonds in a pile of coal)
But, yeah. It's not a Transformers move, and Transfans won't be happy with it, even if they like the movie, it really isn't one about Transformers. And that's just really kind of sad.
