The gardens were quiet, just the soft and distant sound of the students as they moved from one classroom to another. It was Emma's favorite time of the day. Just her and Lillian in the gardens, the air just starting to turn towards the heat of day, and yet there is just enough chill that it was pleasant.

The golden haired baby lazed on a blanket, eyes half closed and her tummy round and full. Laying on her side, Emma rested her hand against Lillian's chest, content to feel her heartbeat like a hummingbird's wings behind those delicate bones.

"Why do you stay?" The voice was soft, trying not to intrude on the baby's rest despite the vitriol of the words. "He doesn't need you and you being here with that child is only upsetting to him."

The he in question that Kitty spoke of didn't need to be elaborated on, they both knew.

"Because he asked me to stay even after we broke up,' Emma murmured, carefully rolling a blanket and resting it against Lillian's side before she rose. It was never a good thing to face one's enemy while laying down. Even if you were both on the same team.

"His loyalty is to this team, not to you, Emma. He needs to keep his head in the game, not lusting after your rather popular panties." Stepping closer, her eyes narrowing. "Maybe it's time for you to move on, Emma. No one trusts you. No one wants you here."

"No one?" The voice that asked those two simple words was low, dangerous and very masculine. "I would like to be able to speak for myself, Kitty. As, I am sure, the others would as well."

Anger quickly turned to a contrite expression as the girl turned to face Scott. "I... It's just... She isn't good for you. Look at her summoning you out her to fight her battles for her."

Emma said nothing, a bemused expression on her face. It was always nice to watch the littlest ninja raked over the coals.

"No one summoned me,' Scott noted, tones even and flat but Emma could feel the anger radiating off of him in waves. "Do you truly think I am that weak minded?"

"No. It's just... I have things to do,' she blurted out, slipping past Scott and heading back up to the Mansion.

For a moment blue eyes meet the gaze that lingered behind ruby quartz. No words were exchanged as Scott turned with a sigh and followed after his teammate.

For a long moment Emma watched him retreat, even long after she could see his broadshoulders and dark hair. Only when Lillian began fussing did she pull her gaze away, curling up on the blanket with her daughter. Feeding her precious child, she kept her thoughts on the life she's created and not the love she'd lost.
