What an absolute waste. What a loss of talent.
The links are abundant on Drudge Report tying to updates surrounding the death of Whitney Houston.
I can't help but think of Michael Jackson's death and others who were so talented and frittered it way over the use of drugs.

Especially with Elvis & Whitney, they both had good moral upbringings, and in their last few years, still claimed to have ties to it. Elvis sang gospel music at many of his shows until he died and would say to the audience that it was Christ who was King, not him.

You hit the nail on the head with this one: because humans are so flawed, in almost every case the bad brings down the good. There are rare exceptions, but once one messes with drugs and substances, their life is never the same.

I think of Alice Cooper here, who was saved by his friends and family, who supported him in the early 80s when the bottle came so close to killing him (for a second time). He has gone on to help others and is a living example that a performer CAN go on to do great things while sober.

You know in the case of AC it was the grace of God and must continue to be. The damage that he had to done to his liver and yet he is able to tour and do all the things he does. You never read about him being sick.
