Camp
so tuesday morning i left to go to USI for UDA dance camp.
i'm not going to go into detail about every day cause that would be too much and i don't feel like writing all that so i'll just sort of sum some things up.
we performed our home routine tuesday night and we teased our hair and it was really cute. my mom videotaped it and i watched it this morning and it actually looked really together.
this is basically what our days were like.
meet the team at 6:50 am.
walk outside in the heat and humidity to the dining room thing and eat breakfast.
go sit in the lobby until about 8:10 or so.
walk to the rec center.
start everything at 8:30.
warm ups.
then we usually would do technique classes and stuff.
lunch was at 11:30 everyday.
then we'd chill til like 1:10 until we had to back to the rec center to work.
we learned other dances and practiced some and did all kinds of things.
we ate dinner at 4:30
and did more dancing and then we did cool downs and had big sis little sis time.
oh..and we did drill downs.
thursday we performed our A routines. mine was an all level jazz routine to "do you believe in magic". it was very easy. i got a blue ribbon.
friday we performed our B and C routines. my B routine was a level 2 pom routine to the song "jerk it out" and my C routine was a level 2-3 hip hop routine to "badman". the B routine was sort of difficult but not as bad as the C routine. i had a lot of trouble with the C routine but i ended up getting blue ribbons in both of those so i was pretty stoked.
when they did awards, erica got the all star thing which means she can go to paris and perform in a new years parade. that is really cool. and our team got a trophy for our home routine and we can go to nationals in disney world if we wanted but we aren't going to go. and we won another trophy but i can't remember what for. basically everyone said that harrison didn't win anything last year so i think it has a lot to do with the captains. i dont know who was captain last year but i think erica and reanna are doing really well this year. erica really pushes us at practice and we need that. i mean i know some of the girls including me get fed up sometimes when we do things over and over but i think all of us know deep down that we need to do that. and i think if we didn't have a captain that was pushing us this much, we would suck. so i think our choices for captains turned out really well.
but anyway..about camp..basically it was a lot of work and it was exhausting but it was also a lot of fun.
i roomed with michelle and we actually got along really well. i'm glad.
and sammy and i actually spent a lot of time together and things are really good between us too.
and on thursday night i stayed up until almost one talking to brittney, jessica and maggie and i'm really glad i did. because i've always been really intimidated by really pretty and popular girls. and i really enjoyed just talking to them and getting to know them because now i know they aren't stuck up or real mean or anything that i thought they were. so that's good.
so i really enjoyed myself but i'm also glad to be home.
i think this year is going to be a lot of work and a lot of fun and i'm really looking forward to it.
oh..but i lost my disposable camera and i'm pretty sure i threw it away on accident. so i guess i'll just be asking people to get doubles.
