Brief political commentary
Note to much of the American media:
The so-called "Birthers" will shut up when the President is no longer black.
Donald Trump will shut up when people stop paying attention to him. (Or maybe not, but at least no one would be paying attention to it at that point.)
So rather than asking stupid questions with obvious answers on this completely nonsensical issue, perhaps you should focus on the fact that a significant portion of conservatives in this country are racist as all fuck and are using this stupidity in an attempt to legitimize that racism.
But that would require actual journalism and the possibility of upsetting people who have money.
(I have nothing to say about whether it was a good tactical move for the White House to jump into this; I can see good arguments on both sides about that. But OMFG, I am so fantastically fed up with the falsely serious consideration of what is BLATANT FUCKING RACISM that Obama even felt it necessary to address the issue at all.)
