Thankfulness, and another chance to buy my stuff

Nov 26, 2010 12:40

We had a nice Thanksgiving celebration. Yet again, I marvel at the culinary talents of my friends and community; we're all still coming up with inventive twists on the traditional holiday ingredients, and making fantastic dishes. The excellent company doesn't hurt either.

We did end up leaving somewhat early; we were both really worn out and not feeling great. The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy and took a toll on us, and lots of rich food and copious alcohol contributed to the "can't do one more thing" feeling. We came home and more or less went straight to bed.

I'm one of those people who tries to keep a sense of gratitude in my head every day, but Thanksgiving does give an extra opportunity to reflect and talk about it. I can say unreservedly that I am thankful for my life. Not everything about it is perfect, but a hell of a lot of it is good and some of it is downright amazing, and I am committed to doing my part to keep it good and amazing. I had a rather intense dream last night in which I was put back to a time and circumstance when my life was not very good and my choices, actions, and behaviors were contributing to it, and the lucid mind of current-me was very, very frustrated that I was continuing on that unhappy, unproductive path in the dream. But it was an excellent reminder of just how much happiness and good things current-me really has, and I'm so grateful.

In unrelated matters: Puget Sound-area people, you have another chance to buy my stuff!

SeaGoth Swap Meet
Sunday, December 5, 2010
4228 Stone Way N
Noon to 5 p.m.

Per alexiarnps: "There will be ample space for any one who wants to sell to have a card or folding table and a garment rack. This is 1021 square feet of hardwood with a full bathroom, kitchen and room for people to try on items (there will also be a full length mirror). Coffee/tea and cookies will be provided." (If you're interested in selling or have questions about the event, contact her.)

The stuff I have left to sell is what I considered to be the cream of my culling, a fine selection of velvets, gothy-goth, corp goth, and name brands, sizes ranging from 10/M to 18/XL-XXL and footwear in sizes 6.5 to 8. There will also be a bit of jewelry and a lot of makeup (brand-new Nyx lip products, sample packs from Aromaleigh and Pure Luxe) and maybe some other accessories, and this time I'll try to get the craft supplies culled and put up for sale. Alexia and cupcake_goth are also selling stuff, meaning high quality of selection, and I'm sure there will be other sellers as well. Come buy things for gifts (even gifts for yourself)! It'll be way better than most of the Black Friday stuff you could buy, and probably even cost less. :)
