Gratuitious late-Friday photos

What I wore on Saturday evening (the night before Halloween), when we went to a party and morthael tried to talk me into going to the Mercury (I ended up saying no, as I was not in the right frame of mind for a sardine-can amateur night).

I felt like I should have *something* sort of costume-y, but most of my outright costumes require a lot of prep, a lot of room, or a lot of logistics, and I wasn't in the mood for any of that. Plus, I don't have any contact lenses right now, so whatever I wore needed to not look totally ridiculous with my glasses. I ended up using a couple of past outfits as starting points and assembling this sort of dark-cabaret/demented-ringmaster thing. Only after we were out and about did I realize that I had unwittingly put together a "sexy ____" outfit, which I was then mortified by, because I HATE those costumes. OTOH, my husband was enthusiastic in his appreciation for it, and told me the next morning, after his night at the Merc, that I was "still the prettiest girl at the club." Awwwwww.
