San Boston-Io 6977rs

This particular team merited a blog entry because of the interesting premise. I got invited to the the ..WILD WORLD OF FANTASY.. Playoff Fantasy Hoops league. APOPKASTODIANS, the league commissioner set forth the rules regarding teams. The most crucial aspect of the rules is that my players must be from the two teams that I think will meet at the finals.

I pick the Boston Celtics to be the East champs and the San Antonio Spurs to be the Western champs. (Of course, I'm still hoping that the Denver Nuggets will win.)

Anyway, without further ado, I present the team I made, the San Boston-Io 6977rs:

Why

Tony Parker?:
  • was last year's finals MVP.
  • should be hungry to show that his injuries haven't slowed him down.
  • has Mrs. Eva Longoria-Parker cheering him on.
Manu Ginobili:
  • has shown what he is capable of while Tony Parker was absent.
  • has scored at least 26 points six times in March.
  • has good 3PT and FT percentages during the playoffs.
Kevin Garnett:
  • should be even hungrier for a championship, now that they're at the top of the league.
  • has a career double-double with regards to the playoffs.
  • has a great teammates he can pass to (Ray Allen and Paul Pierce)
  • could be the league MVP and finals MVP (assuming they get to the finals.)
Tim Duncan:
  • is one of the best big-men around.
  • also has a career double-double with regards to the playoffs.
  • is the leader of the Spurs.
  • may be boring, but he gets the job done very well.
Kendrick Perkins:
  • is an indicator of how well his team is playing. If they're doing well, he's doing well.
  • has had numerous double-doubles this season.
  • like KG, he is a defensive-minded player.
Leon Powe:
  • he's been having a good season.
  • plays backup to KG. He may not get so many minutes, but he knows when he has to step up.
Well, what do you think? I thought of going with Boston's Big 3 but San Antonio's bench doesn't seem that exciting to me. Oh well. Boston-San Antonio in the finals! :D Go Denver! :))
