What a good post! I'm gonna work on picking favorites from everyone, but in the meantime, I was wondering - which was the easiest and which was the hardest theme for everyone?
For me, easiest was lyrics (cause I just finished watching Given a few days before the battle), and hardest was tsundere since I don't really watch shows where that archetype appears often, so I had to actually google tsundere characters to come up with someone to icon lol
Oh!That's so interesting! :D Gosh,I love Given and almost did icon it for lyrics too,haha! I'd say the hardest for me was the off centre and Hero because I had to colour the manga scan and also try to make it look good. Silhouette was a bit hard for me because I wanted to have the characters and silhouette both and composing it was the main thing but I'm happy with how it turned out!
While I did colour a manga panel for extreme close crop,it also was somehow one of the easiest icons to make because I knew what kind of crop I wanted and it just fit! XD
Hardest was definitely extreme close crop because I barely ever make close cropped icons, although for some reason a close second was glasses? I looked at the theme and then literally forgot every single character with glasses that exists lol
Easiest was probably flowers because I love a good flower texture!
Interesting question! I thought Tsundere would be hard because I don't tend to like that type of characters, but that means I ended up thinking about it as soon as I saw the prompts and realised there was a tsundere character from a series I've always wanted to icon, so that ended up being my first icon hahaha. On the other hand I knew instantly what caps I wanted to use for Far Crop and Bishie Sparkle!
I struggled a lil with Rainbow because I wanted to do that in the background, but couldn't find many textures I could work with. (And then in the end I just did the colours myself with a gradient lol.) And with Silhouette it took aaaages to use the cap in the way I wanted lol;;
And then Hero, which I thought was vague enough to be easy, ended up being one of my last ones because I just don't really watch much that has an action-style hero that wouldn't also qualify for Badass Adorable and I wanted to distinguish those themes. So in the end I went with more just 'the protagonist', which it seems was a little unusual of me n.n;;
The easiest for me was glasses, hero and close crop. On the other hand, silhouette, rainbow and bishie sparkle broke my brain because I wanted to interpret the prompts in the most technically correct way possible but also like the end result of it. That was so fudging hard to achieve!
I think Silhouette was the hardest for me, less on the technical side, but finding a fitting screencap! Also quite difficult was Complementary Colors, until I put my foot down and decided to use the first best color that Google suggested to me (I googled the color wheel, but got several different results!)
Flowers and Rainbows were the easiest ones, mostly because the caps already included the themes ;)
All in all, as someone who hasn't done a single anime/manga icon before, I think I didn't sooo bad. And finally seeing the whole collection is a feast for the eyes! Gorgeous work, everyone!
