it happens to me when I submit sets for icontests. like in a set I actually love what I came up with but then when the votng goes up for each icon separately, I just want to go hide somewhere >

I had this feeling about MY iconposts, especially in the past, but yes, it happens from time to time!

Usually tho, my problem is that the icons I adore are from characters I don't like, and the icons of the characters I like are not of my taste, so I end up not using a maker's icons at all, even though I love them in general.

What happens more to me is that I'm like "ooh I love that theme/challenge!" and then forget about it until I see the voting and wish I'd entered :c

like others said above, I have that same feeling about my own sets sometimes.
the icons look so cohesive as a set, but then you pull one icon out and it feels kinda nekkid.
