I dont personally feel "wrong" using someone else's icons but I do feel that people who think you must be full of yourself if you're only using your own icons are judgmental asses.

I think that's fine, tbh? You can still love other people's work but sometimes you just need a userpic of a certain something and that's easier if you just make it yourself.

You definitely shouldn't feel wrong using someone else's icons. I thought that was the whole reason why people post their icons in the first place! We want to share them for people to use!

I love using both my icons and other people's.

It's always easier for me to use my own because I know EXACTLY what I want to be in my userpics, BUT there are so mant pretties out there and I want to have them!

The bad thing is, sometimes I love an icon so much, or an iconmaker, but they are not in my fandom or the icons I like from them are not from my fandom/my fave character. IDK if this makes sesne :P

I love using icons made by other people - except as my default. I feel strange if my default isn't one I've made...

97% of my userpics are my icons (easy to calculate since I have 100 lol) and I'm not at all ashamed (but I go anon on principle so). I use my icons because I love my icons. They're exactly what I like, with characters I like, colors I like, crops I like etc.

Passing judgement on others based on whether they use their own icons exclusively seems kind of lame to me.

I also use only my own icons - simply because I make them for me. I love sharing my icons in my community and seeing others use them is FANTASTIC, but that's not why I make icons, it's a positive by-product. I make them for myself so I'm gonna use them.
Seriously if I used all the amazing icons other people made I would never open photoshop again. xD

But, anon, I don't think you should feel bad for using other people's icons, because it's the best compliment ever.

If you use other makers' icons, you don't have confidence in your own ability.
