Hello!
Do you remember me? I used to be a mod here and stuff :) So, some happenings... happened lately at iconsecrets, which I don't know if you followed or not, but the quick version is that we can boil it down to the old discussion about people being mentioned directly in secrets. I planned on tackling the issue when I got back (I'm still not here, this is totally a projection), but now is always the best time.
I'm a firm believer in participation, so this will be a group decision made through a poll. We have to do it this way because for every person who's vocal about their dislike of love secrets, there's someone who likes them but is uncomfortable expressing their opinion, and vice-versa, and all of you should be taken into consideration. So, every vote counts. If you participate in iconsecrets, if you usually only lurk, if you want to change anything you see, if you want to keep the same, well, please vote, because however this poll goes will be final for this community.
When voting, I'd also like you to explain what do you consider a direct secret, a love secret, a neutral secret, a valid criticism. This is so the mods have more definite boundaries when accepting/rejecting secrets. I DO want to know your opinion and I WILL take it into account.
One more question: mods should, well, moderate, only the secrets or the comments as well? Which rules should be enforced then? Please answer it in a comment or send me a PM or any other way you find best. Any other issues you think relevant, please bring it to me or innocent_lexys as well, we're open to you. :)
The poll will close in a week, and probably by the next submissions post the decided rules will start being enforced. We'll also make another post with the decisions and an explicitation of the general rules of the community - if you want something changed, now is the time to speak. Please bear with us for a while. I'm really sorry for anything that might be hurting you or anything you don't like in this community, but I'd also like to ask for a bit of patience/lenience on your part. We're mods, but we're only human; we can make mistakes and we can also learn from them. So your suggestion, criticism, questions, they're all welcome and through them we'll try making this community a better place. All in all, it's in our best interest that this comm is fun for everyone and all kinds of people.
I'm looking into ways of having more internet availability over the weekend so I can come back posting the secrets at the time they should be posted. Until then, innocent_lexys will be in charge of the community, at least while she still wants the job, lol.
