I don't have time to reply to everyone respectively, right now, and I have just gone through some of the comments, so I can leave some sort of reply here for the time being, so I am going to point out a couple of things.

- I promise to put a voting up about removing praise secrets entirely, and if the majority distinctively would like that, then it will happen. I am fine with praise secrets, and I am fine without them actually, if this removes drama, I am all for it.

- Also I see some of you mentioned that you cannot express your negativity. You can express your dislike towards graphics, communities, and other things as long as its not wank or flaming on a person's personality. As long as it is cryptic of course! I don't really want to limit you guys, I just don't want drama you know.

I will get back to you guys later, when I can decently take my time to read everything. I appreciate all your feedback.

Just FYI, if you make a poll (using the lj poll system) anons cannot vote, only those with a registered username can. And polls aren't even private, the results are either visible to everyone, registered users or "none" and the last option means that the results are hidden from members/watchers/everyone, but not the mod, so you as mod will be able to see who votes what if you chose that option. So that means what we vote and who participates will not be truly hidden with either of those options.

My suggestion would be to make a new post and then you create new comments for every option as a response to that post (like you do with each secret) and then everyone can comment with (+1) or similar to the option they support. We can then comment with our username, or anon.

Anons could comment multiple times, that wouldn't give a fair result.

Aren't IP addresses tracked, though? Since if they are, then that could maybe eliminate votes from the same IP and cut down on anons being able to comment multiple times.

They're not, and for the sake of this comm I hope they will never be. It defeats the purpose of 'secret' community, since the mod could go over comments and check the IPs to discover the identity of the posters....

Diff. anon.

I commented a few times in this post and my IPs changed. :/

Well then, what's your suggestion?

The only option I see is that those who want to be anon and don't want people to see who they are and what they vote have to create a fake new account and vote with that or not participate at all. If that comes to pass, I'll chose the latter.

Make a poll on some poll site outside LJ? There are ones that allow only one vote per IP, seems fair to me.

pollcode (dot) com seems like a good one.

It's anonymous and the creator of the poll doesn't need to register either, just fill it out and post the code for it in a new post.

Yes, that was my plan from the beginning to keep anonymity, it wouldn't be fair to you anons, if it was an actual poll.
I really have everyone's best interest in mind, even if you guys might disagree with my views on one point or another.

I'm not trying to start wank, I'm just wondering why the poll needs to be anon?
I know in the past anons have said they didn't want to be shunned for having unpopular opinions, but from the looks of things, people are pretty evenly split down the middle. I don't think anyone is going to get shunned/ostracized/crucified for voting one way or the other. :)

I'm not the original anon, but the reason for me is that I don't want people to know who I am, or what I vote. The reasons for that aren't necessarily that I'm afraid to be shunned/ostracized/crucified, but I have my reasons, which are personal.

Fair enough. :)

I've got to be honest, I don't really get it either. Saying you don't want love secrets isn't going to make people turn on you, and like you say it seems there is a healthy chunk of people on each side.

Thank you for this! As well as for all the work you've done for the community so far. People may disagree on whether or not you're a good mod, but it has always been clear to me that you are truly dedicated to iconsecrets. And no one can deny that.
