My advice is to just go for it! They may not have time, but I've asked some makers about how they do specific effects before and they've been willing to give me a couple of tips!
Aww, anon! I feel you on being shy, but I've learned that in the icon-world, people are generally helpful and friendly. It's better to ask, for sure! Even if they don't want to take the time to write up a full-fledged tutorial for their coloring, they may at least give you some helpful tips, like color-fill layers and blending modes, etc. Give it a shot!
Hopefully dashberlin will see this and take pity on the world and make some new tutorials. She hasn't made any in a looooooooooong time and I adore her style so much
For all you know, someone may feel that exact same way about you, Miya, and just not have the nerve to tell you. If you wanna learn from others, go on and ask for tuts, my dear, so you can try some of your fave makers' stylistic details and ideas out for yourself. Try not to compare yourself to anyone else, my dear. Focus on what you like to make and try to make it as beautifully as you can!

They might not be able to write you a full tutorial, but give you some pointers on how they achieved certain things.
