honestly, I think it's a matter of graphic-making programs (PS etc) and THEIR layouts actually giving the impression of the boosted contrast

I think it's a good thing that you care about your watchers' opinion. I mean, why not ask what they want? Then it'l be a win-win. and as far as I know, people always love requests:)

I actually DON'T have ideas of my own. That's why I join so many icontests and 20in20s. You sound like you're just trying to gauge what others wanna see and give back to those who watch your comm. Nothing wrong with that, my dear!

I can sympathize with you, OP. I wouldn't mind experimenting with my Photoshop but that's difficult when I can't find any icons or tutorials that make me want to learn about them.

Every time someone uses one of my icons I have a tiny heart attack, and I mean that in the best possible way. ^^
