Regardless of how you like the pairing of Justin & Alex Russo whether you just like them as siblings or are sick like me and going to hell, you have to admit that Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie was a super awesome example of how much chemistry Selena Gomez and David Henrie have. I have compiled this list of the top 5 best Justin/Alex moments from the movie. These can be read two ways. I am a sick, sick person, so I read them the shippy way. Which is not that hard to do, although I don't have brothers, so I don't know how brothers act towards their sisters.

WARNING: SPOILERS if you have not seen the movie.

5. It goes both ways.

A: "Justin's so perfect. Why can't you be more like Justin?"
J: Who says that?
A: Besides you? Everyone. Mom and Dad.
J: Well, they wouldn't say that if I wasn't so...perfect.
A: You know that's not true. They love you regardless.
J: You know that goes both ways.

Now, on the one hand, this is a conversation about how their parents love both of them. On the other hand, look at how he's touching her in that last cap.

I really liked this scene because it was a perfect example of how well the two of them can work together when they try. (That comes up later in the movie.) Also, it's a prime spot for a discussion about something that I'm sure has been bothering both of them for a while. I love the way they look at each other, the quietly intense way they insist that whatever the other is thinking isn't true.

Plus, with my dirty mind, I read "goes both ways" in a totally different way than I'm sure it was meant. Because that's how I work.

4. "I heard you the first time."

A: I'm sorry. For everything.
J: What?
A: I'm sorry. This is all my fault.
J: I heard you the first time. I just wanted to hear you say it again.

...

J: I'm sorry, too.
A: What are you sorry for?
J: You're my little sister. I shouldn't be on you as much. We need each other.
A: Wait, what was that?
J: I know. Not saying it again.

He shouldn't be on her as much. Yeah, guess what my dirty mind did with that? That's pretty much all I took from this scene, by the way. My brain stopped working.

One thing I do like about Justin and Alex is that everything is so quiet between them. They very rarely have screaming matches. Which I think is weird, but still like.

3. "You gave up your powers?"

J: What did you do? ... You gave up your powers? You won! Why would you do that?
A: Because I wanted to make sure that nothing was different. That nothing changed.

Mostly, I like this scene for the way he looks at her after he realizes she gave up her powers to save them. Because, seriously, LOOK AT HIM LOOK AT HER. It's the most adorable thing ever. EVER. And how they immediately go right into teasing each other about what's going to happen in the next competition.

2. The Campfire Scene

A: Justin, what if we don't get the stone in time, and we can't save everyone?
J: Don't worry about it. We will.
A: How do you know that?
J: Because it's you and I. How can we not?

I'd like to start off by saying HE OFFERS HER HIS SHIRT. My sisters would let me freeze. Besides, it's not even a long-sleeved shirt, there's no way it'd be much warmer than what she's wearing. Also, DAVID HENRIE IN A WIFE BEATER.

Also, they're sitting really close to each other, which is probably for warmth, but they're in the Caribbean, how cold does it get? Don't answer that. I like my theory.

And it's Alex listing all the things she admires about Justin. Which never happens and that alone makes it awesome.

I really liked this scene because it's understatedly obvious. The surface is a sister telling her brother why he's awesome. But I never just look at the surface. I'm all about subtext. And the subtext is sending me straight to hell. And this scene is laden with it. And I really like how "to get her attention" he touches her knee. Because they're not sitting right next to each other and are the only two people in the jungle.

1. "I'd never leave you."

A: No. No, Justin. Please, please, you can't leave me here. Please remember. I'm Alex. I'm your little sister. I taunt you and I tease you and I make your life miserable, but you love me anyway. You're everything that I've ever wanted to be. I'm jealous of how smart you are and how kind and how nice. Please don't leave me here.
J: I'd never leave you. I don't know who you are, but I believe you.

Ignoring the fact that "kind" and "nice" are pretty much the same thing, HE SAID HE'D NEVER LEAVE HER. Even having forgotten who she is, he still remembers that he loves her. That's why this is the top moment, over the campfire scene which literally made me die of squees. Also, it's so heartwrenching, because Justin is literally the last person Alex has left. And I loved how she kept saying that he should have won. I think that's really why she gives up the powers, because she thinks Justin is the one who deserves them.

And that is why these two kill me.
