Potential Idea for the Comm

Hi!

I've been thinking a lot lately about an area where I think I could use some help, both in giving and receiving concrit.

I feel like a lot of the concrit I both give and receive is very specific to one icon. Every once in awhile I give or get a comment that can be more broadly applied to icons to be made in the future, but a lot of time I guess concrit feels to me more like a "how to fix this specific icon" guide than "how to be a better icon maker" guide.

There's nothing wrong with that type of concrit, if that's what people are comfortable giving, but I thought I might be more useful if I were able to give more general concrits to other people. I have this fond memory of a piece of advice that blueymcphluey gave me several years ago, that still comes into my head to pay attention to when I make icons now, so I guess I hope to be able to pass that on to others

That's an excellent suggestion! We are discussing the possibilities right now, but we are really keen on incorporating something like this into the community. Thank you so much for suggesting it!

We're going to try and work something more, I guess, "comprehensive" into the critique memes to cover style more widely as opposed to just individual icons all the time. So we'll see how it goes, and hopefully we can come up with something that you will find useful in answering these questions.
