These are all icons I made tonight, and I spent a lot more time on coloring (tons of selective coloring layers and color fill), and basically I just want to know if it works/I'm doing it right xD

These are sooo good, hun!
#1 - I've been experimenting recently but usually I don't like yellowish faces however you've made the yellow looks stunning here because the combination with blue is superb and makes the icon very vibrant and dynamic.
#2 - I adore the colors in this icon, I actually think it's the texture that's a bit overpowering.
#3 - Perfect! This is my favorite and it is absolutely flawless, imo!
#4 - I think the colors should be just a little bit stronger. Maybe a Soft Light layer set to around 30%? I'm not sure, I just need a little more depth. The colors themselves are very pretty and nicely matched. :)
#5 - I think the colors are perfect for the scene, warm and soft but kinda deep at the same time. The only thing I notice is that the colors in Kaylee's hair are stronger that any of the once on Mal so it seems just slightly unbalanced.

Thank you bb!
Would you believe that in number two I tried really, really hard to put a green texture in there and make it work with the purple of Dean's face, but I could not make it look good so I left it red xD But yeah, it's a bit much.

Haha! I know these moment when you try to do something again and again but the icon just won't have it. :D But I think the green really isn't needed, the purple and red give it a strong and sinister feeling that I like.

1. ♥ I love the orange/turquoise/purple contrast here (and that texture at the top is amazing). So lovely.
2. The purple of Dean's face seems a bit...well, overbearing with the red texture in front, I guess. I do like that you have a monochrome look going on here, but his face is maybe too saturated? I'm sorry; I'm doing an awful job of explaining here. XD
3. Great work, again. The orange and purple is a great color combo.
4. Love he way your reds and greens pop on this. The one thing I find kind of odd is the yellow strip at the top. It gives the icon a really light look at the top, but at the bottom the deep reds and grungy(ish) skin have a more weighty look, so it doesn't seem very balanced.
5. I love the soft glowy effect you've achieved with this! A little bit more contrast might be nice, but it's lovely as is.

Yay, thank you! And yes, I agree about two and four. I wanted the background cap in four to be lighter, but lol it got kind of unbalanced in the process.

First of all, generally, I LIKE your coloring a lot! All of these are beautiful, the comments below are just meant to enhance them and make them even prettier. :)
1) The coloring and the texture work well together, and I really like the contrast of the left side of Sam's face and the background. But I'd use a masked adjustment layer (whatever you prefer, I'd go for color balance but that's just personal preference) to get rid of the blue on the left side of Sam's face.
2) While not my taste, there's nothing wrong with the coloring itself. The texture is a little overwhelming, though, especially on the right half of the icon.
3) You could bring Zoe into focus a little more by changing the lighting around here, but other than that, I LOVE the coloring of that icon!
4) Maybe paddling back on the pink just a whee bit, but other than that, a beautiful icon!
5) I feel like the color composition here doesn't work very well; the dark part could use a little more contrast, and the part with Kaylee and Mal is too bright.

Hope some of that was helpful. :)
