We haven't had a meme in awhile because the participation has been fairly low for the past few. But, hey, I'm feeling up to a new one; hopefully you are as well! Just regular, old fashioned style~
Hello! I can be helpful to you. I'm certainly not an expert on concrit. ^_^
01 - My first thought is that the background texture doesn't seem to fit. It looks to pixel-y, and I actually think something a darker blue would be better. For the coloring on Morgana, her skin is a little washed out. I think a bit of contrast would do very well.
02 - I think this one is absolutely lovely! I love the coloring, cropping, and lighting. All it needs is just a bit more sharpening.
03 - This icon has too many textures on it, I think. The left side has too much contrast, making his facial features look like their floating in just a white space. And on the right side the greenish texture makes him look a little pixelated, and it also divides the icon in half because of the opposite colors. This can sometimes look well if the subject is looking directly forward, but with this cap, I think you need more specific coloring and lighting.
04 - I really love the way Katie looks. here. The colors on her face are great. I would just add a tiny bit of contrast and sharpening. However, I feel the different colored textures on either side are too much of a distraction. Without those and a bit more contrast, this icon would be great.
05- I really love this icon. I have nothing to say about except that it looks like she's missing a foot, lol, which could just be the cap. But you did an excellent job cutting her out and the colors are great. Her yellow dress really pops against the blue.
Thank you so much, everything you mentioned is very helpful indeed! ♥
I completely overlooked the 'missing foot' in 5, lol - probably because I knew from the cap that she was running down some stairs, so it didn't seem weird to me at all (I swear the foot wasn't there to begin with!) - and now it's all I can see, haha -.-
3 was a bit of an experiment, I couldn't decide if it was looking cool or entirely stupid in the end. ^^ I see what you mean with the white face and the colors deviding it in halfs now, I felt that something was wrong somehow, but didn't know what really.
I often seem to have trouble making the texture/backgrounds really match the subject, for some reason my own judgement fails me there more often than not, ugh.
Again, thank you so much, I'll work on these some more keeping your concrit in mind and see where it leads me :)
