Remember when I mentioned promo banners for the comm? Yes? No? Maybe? Well, erikssiren and I are working on some, no matter whether you remember it or not. This means something fun though. Wait for iiittt...
We've already discussed it briefly, and the two of us think that it would be AWESOME to showcase some of YOUR work on the banners we make to promote the community. Sweet, eh? No, we're not asking you to make the banners (though if you want to do so, you are certainly more than welcome! What we really want, however, is to showcase some of your best and favorite work... chosen by YOU and the community as a whole.
This is your chance to submit some of your favorite of your own work. The icons MUST have been made specifically for a claim on this community. How old or new the claim is doesn't really matter, although if you've been here for a long time and especially if you've done a lot of challenges, I strongly recommend keeping it to the last year or so.
It's quite simple, really. Like I said, pick some of your favorites that YOU'VE made. We will not be doing nominations, but we WILL vote! I am not going to nail down a specific limit to the number of icons you enter, but please exercise self control. If you've only done one claim and you have three, four, five icons you're super-proud of, go ahead. If you've done several claims, try to stick to two, MAYBE three from each claim - but do feel free to submit for multiple claims! I just don't want ten icons from everybody who's done more than one claim, you follow? The voting could get REALLY overwhelming that way. If we end up getting absolute loads of icons, I'll do voting based on subject - and yeah, if you hadn't noticed, there are some subjects that get a LOT of attention! xD
The point of this is to showcase a variety of work from a variety of artists on several different promotional banners for the comm. Ideally, we'd like 12-16 icons to use on the banners. Your work will not be edited - it will go on a banner just as it is, alongside other icons from other users. Only the banner itself (the base, if you will) will be edited, and it will very likely just be a gradient background with some text. We want to let your work shine!
Additionally, the artist's names (lj username, that is) will be on the bottom of the banner, so you will get credit. We won't leave you hanging. ;)
