Making icons that are so texture heavy to the point where you can't tell what the subject is, is NOT attractive. My icons are pretty texture heavy but you CAN tell what's going on.

Oh yes, the only time I ever use textures is when the icon needs a little extra something.

Texture abuse is seriously out of control. Especially in stock communities - good lord. What passes for simple stock these days is just... so... not. It's very frustrating.
