A lesson or two on rhetoric....
Ok, I'm not going to have this turn into *another* war/anti-war arguement...but I do want to make an observation.
I would like it very much if everyone would stop inserting "Bush is an idiot." or "Clinton was an idiot." into those sorts of verbal / literary debates. The personal attacks water down your arguement and make you seem petty, rather than a serious thinker.
Maybe they are idiots, maybe they're not. The correctness or incorrectness of an arguement or idea exists completely seperate from the person that posed it. If a person is "intelligent" (whatever that means) it doesn't mean they are right or wrong...same goes for the "idiots".
If you're still baffled, let me put it to you this way...
If you want to be taken seriously, knock it off with the personal attacks. They make YOU look like the idiot.
