The idea for this came when I was reading about a sun jar craft, where a solar light is put into a frosted jar. It glows at night like there's a bunch of trapped lightning bugs inside. I was steadily reading through the Church of Old Mermaid's blog and thought it would be neat if instead of collecting lightning bugs and snails in jars, a kid could bottle up a tiny mermaid he found while looking for tadpoles.
