This business thing wasn't as random as it appeared on the internet, I've been sure I was going to do it for at least a month now, and contemplating the idea for over a year. Today, I filed Articles of Organization and a Fictitious Name Registration for Giant Technology Solutions. I plan on canvassing neighborhoods with coupon/postcard sized flyer advertising my services and my cheap as shit prices, which could make me a murderous amount of money.
Right now, I'm pretty much just waiting for my name to clear, and to wait for a certified copy to arrive before I can open a business bank account to track expenses. I'm going to do a pricing evaluation next week on my days off, and will finish making the rest of my business related purchase with my next paycheck, including, hopefully, my first round of marketing material, to get this shit started. Due to the easy nature of the work, there's virtually no overhead (but I'm going all out- I want to come out swinging and look like a pro), though now that I think about it, I really actually need a portable harddrive. But anyway, I'm pretty serious about this, and as of now it's a part time thing, but hopefully I can get enough wind under it's wings for it to take off soon. I figure if I can make a successful model in this economy, I think I can succeed anywhere. The prospects are endless but true success would be tough. This can only really fail if the marketing material is so ineffective that it costs me money.
I'm still kind of nervous about that, though, but there are other ways to market this then just canvassing. My hope is that the canvassing campaign not only pays for itself quickly and allows me to take yellowpages/google ads.
I feel good about this. I've always thought I could actually conquer the world if I reeeally reeeally tried, and be that as untrue as it most likely is, it's still nice to actually feel myself trying for once, even if it's just a little bit.
