Week 55 : Challenge
Ok, so here's the thing. The schedule of this icontest basically sucks - it sucks hard. I can't work with it, due to my on scheduling, and people often get confused on when to enter the contests. So I'm using my Mod powers and changing it back to the regular schedule (Monday-Frinday = enter, friday night = voting posted, Sunday = Winners posted). If any of you guys have a huge issue with this, it's still up to debate, but this weeks challenge will run on the proposed schedule.
Yay, enough with the boring stuff, and on the challenges! (I have some awesome possum stuff for you this week!)
Challenge One: Foreign Language!
For this challenge you're required to have text. But the text CANNOT be in English - modern, american, or otherwise. You may use anything else - such as Spanish, Welsh, Japanese, Arabic, even Khoisan if you can manage it :D. The sky is the limit - and ESL contestants ... you guys lucked out this week XXXD.
Challenge Dos: a Po-eem (I love how southerners say it that way)!
Jabberwocky - Lewis Carrol
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
