Help pleeeease!

Okay, I'm getting a little frustrated. I haven't used photoshop in a while so I'm a bit rusty. And I have a question for you all.

I'm trying to edit the colors on this one picture I have. And I used the lasso tool to select what I want to change using the 'selective color' thing. I want to make what I selected a new layer on the image how do I do this?! I thought it was ctrl + ??? But I totally forget for some reason. o.o Can someone give me a hand? lol
