Gorgeous icon & tutorial! I tried it out, and ran into a bit of confusion (I improvised, just to see if it was me being a dorfmonder as usual, but I think I really am a bit lost). It's perfect up to "create a new base", where my head blew up a little. *is total NEWBIE* You want us to copy the icon we've made up to that point and paste it onto a new layer? And then, okay, followed by 'flip which base? the original or the new one that may or may not have been pasted or something?' So, I flip the new base icon thing, no problem; read on, 'oh, good! I did it right!' and then, B&W, also np, duplicate, set to soft light, got it. Lovely. And I merge down the B&W softlight layer into the original B&W layer, leaving the colored one alone, cuz that seemed to make more sense than doing a total layer merge. And I was right, 'yay'. Okay. Move the B&W layer up on top of colored layer, fiddlefiddlefiddlemove, then merge all the layers when it's where I want it, and then do the white stripey thing.. I think I got most confused over all the 'bases'. ( ... )
