I do too. Happened across it by accident. actually. I didn't know you could even get this type of coloring without using an Overlay layer. :3

great tutorial, not working well with the images im choosing though, possibly because they are quite bright to start with

Hm, that might be a problem. You could always omit a few steps or just mess around until you get an effect you like. That might work. :)
