Layout effect question
This effect is used often in layouts, but I've also seen it used in icons as well so I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me achieve this effect. Three example layouts that use this effect are here:

Basically, I'm trying to get the background part of the header on all of the layouts. The part that usually consists of two or more colors with lots of brushes- that's what I'm trying to do. I know it has something to do with using textures and cloud brushes together, but everytime I try to experiment, I can never get the right effect.
I've tried to ask some people how to do this effect, but none of them want to write a tutorial for it or they give me vague advice.
