Sounds like a problem with Alpha Channels (...though I could be wrong). I tried doing transparent backgrounds before and was told IE can't support them without some very complicated code.

I don't necessarily know why, but it does that to me, too.

Maybe we should just destroy IE and make everyone have FF, or else. Netscape would be okay, too. ;)

I think you'd just be better off saving it as .gif, or maybe making the background whatever color shows up where the transparency should be in IE.

Destroying IE sounds like a good idea LOL.
I tried to save it as gif but the brushes looked all messed up...

Oh, I know, that happens to me all the time in .gif.

That's why I try and have the image have the same background as the rest of my site, if you know what I mean. It's hard if your background isn't just a solid color, but can be pulled off. :)

I was able to help myself :-) I saved the image as PNG 8 instead of PNG 24 - et voilá. It works both ways; in Firefox and in IE. The brush has kinda white shadow but it´s better than the blue box.

IE doesn't have the capabilities to display transparent PNGs. You have to download a patch or some sort of file for it to display properly in IE. If you save it as a high quality GIF, it will work in IE.
