Hello ladies and Gentlemen ! today were making this :

I'm using Photoshop CS but I think that you can translate it into different programs=) the tut's a bit hard if you're totaly new to it all but if you really try you should manage it =)
Good luck

1.Open a new canvas (file>new) make it 600x400 px.

2.now open the two pictures and paste them onto the new base you just opened.

3. arange the pics as you like them and then blend them together.
I like to use the layer mask technique but if you have a better way of doing it you're so welcome =)
The basic thing about blending with layermasks is that you chose wich layer you want to blend itno another, (in this case it's the top layer the one where hil's sitting down)
and then you press the little square with a circle in the middle wich is located at the bottom of your little layer workspace (see picture) :

Make sure that your colors are black and white before you start painting and that your layermask is active then it's just to blend away. I hope I didn't confuse you to much, it's a bit hard to explain..:)

So, now you have your blended picture and your ready to go.

4. Merge all the layers (Layer>Merge visible)
5. duplicate you base twice, set both to hard light, the first one to 100% opacity and the second to 75%
6. Merge all your layers again.. and you should have this :

7. Make a new fill layer (Layer>new fill layer >solid color) choose a dark blue color I used #0414B1. set the new layer to color dodge at 69%
Now you should have something like this:

8. Make another fill layer and fill it with a light blue color, I used #9AECF6 set the layer to hard light at 34 %
9. another fill layer, fill with a peachy color I used #FCD591 set the layer to soft light at 46%

When your satisfied with your result merge the layers, you should have something like this:

10. Now make a new adjustment layer (layer>newadjustmentlayer>photofilter)choose the yellow photofilter and set the density to 65%
11. merge your layers
12.make a new layer (layer>new>layer)
13. choose your rectangular marquee tool and change the settings from normal to fixed size inte dropdown window at the top of your window. Type in W: 550 px H: 30px

14. Place the tool were ever you want it, I choose the lefthand corner, then fill the marking with white
15. now change the layer settings to soft light at 100% and duplicate the layer twice (the layer with the box on it)

Now we're nearly there, just the writing left, I used Saeculum at 60pt for the "Hilary Duff" and the same font at 12pt for the scribble beneath.
Just write whatever you like until it's long enough to be a line under the "hilary duff" or you can just skip it =)

16. Set the text layer with "Hilary Duff" on it to linear burn at 100 % and voila you're done =D=D
End product :

If you have any questions just ask me and I will try to answer them =D //Emma
