Can anybody tell me how to get this glowy effect? I would really like to know and I can't figure it out.

I've tried to achieve it, and I came up with something similar. I duplicated the image layer, modified the curves to have a brighter colour, then I also increased the brightness and contrast. After that I applied a Gaussian Blur (5-7px) and set the layer as Lighter Colour. Finally, I erased some parts to make the outcome look better :)
